Philanthropy at our chapter
One of the 4 pillars at Kappa Sigma is Service and as such philanthropy is a growing aspect and integral part of our chapter. Last year we threw our annual charity event Puppies and Waffles with the UBC Mental Health Awareness Club, where all proceeds were donated to charity. It was a massive success which brought together all parts of campus for a great cause. We have also thrown video game tournaments for which proceeds were donated to support Canadian veterans, and are frequently involved in volunteering for other philanthropic events across both Greek life and Vancouver in general.
What we do
Kappa Sigma is one of the leaders in service hours and money raised within the Greek Community and Philanthropy is something that we take very seriously and hold very close to our hearts. The philanthropy committee is responsible for the planning and organizing of the various events we hold throughout the year such as Rise and Shine, our annual all day breakfast event, and Puppies and Waffles. All of the proceeds from our events go directly to the Kappa Sigma Military Heroes Campaign that seeks to help aid thousands of veterans in the United States and Canada. For this coming year we aim to raise $10,000 for the military heroes campaign and as well as create a new annual event that will bring a new approach to fundraisers.
